Last nights gig at Falzone’s was a great time. The duo, PICO CANTO, featuring Joe D’Angelo and myself, performed for a full house though to 11 PM. This was another one of those jewel performances I wished I had caught on tape (digital). We played such great tunes as “Pennies From Heaven”, “A Foggy Day”, “Rosetta”, “Let’s Get Lost”, “Georgia”, “I thought About You”, “My Romance”, “Besame Mucho”, ” What’ll I do”, “There’s A Small Hotel” , and many more, even a duet version of Joe’s arrangement for the Johnny Dollar Experiment band of Dylan’s “Times are a Changing “. A cool take for piano and guitar. Falzone’s , featuring great Italian food, asked PICO CANTO to return every other week. So if you dig our tune list, or looking for some elegant live light classic jazz to accompany great home cooked food, please come out to FALZONE’S Italian Restaurant and catch PICO CANTO at our next appearance. YES for this one. It was sweet.
That’s is correct. The Johnny Dollar Experiment won Pulse Magazine’s, Worcester Music Awards 2010 for the BEST JAZZ GROUP.
Thanks to all who voted for the band, and thanks to the Pulse Magazine and its staff for calling attention to Worcester’s vibrant music scene. Although it can look easy and fun, musicians / bands work very hard, to develop their skill, craft music, spend money on instruments and sound equipment, schlep equipment around, and all the rest of it, to entertain. Kudos to all involved including those nominated, the Lucky Dog for hosting the event last night.
If you haven’t heard The Johnny Dollar Experiment visit the band’s myspace site at myspace[dot]com[slash]johnnydollarex.
The band features Joe D’Angelo, John-Dollar-Murzycki, Vic Helenic, Mauro DePasquale. The boys also work in a more main stream venue called “JAZZED UP”
You can visit jazzedupmusic on myspace for that.
Thanks again. Now, BOOK THE BAND !!!
