Bad food junkies and food justice advocates may appreciate this as BA shares the low down on America’s addiction to toxic foods.
The first paragraph in the article BA quotes is this: “A diet including unlimited amounts of junk food can cause rats to become so addicted to the unhealthy diet that they will starve themselves rather than go back to eating healthy food, researchers have discovered.” I wonder if the influence of addiction is behind the thinking process of those who tend to dismiss the serious health and environmental issues stemming from those factory farms and food industries centered upon pushing fast food, long shelf life, and to corner the fast buck market. Like the rats maybe it’s the addiction doing the thinking.
Unfortunately it really appears that some lobbyist are simply well funded by the factory food industry and with former factory food executives directly influencing and in some cases presiding over regulatory conditions in DC, can we expect any real change which will lead to providing for a healthier population?
Take it with a grain of salt. Hey wait, don’t!
